Rafa has insisted that he is not going to walk away from the Liverpool job and talks are continuing over a new contract.
Bookmakers yesterday stopped taking bets on Benitez's future just a few hours before Liverpool went out and beat Real Madrid 1-0.
Benitez is thought to want greater control over the transfer policy at the club and the warring owners are reluctant to allow that to happen. However, Benitez says the lawyers have been talking and that he feels the problems will be overcome.
We will have to take Benitez at his word. However, I have spent some time today considering who I would want in charge if I were a Liverpool fan, and Jose may fit the bill. However, if not why not make, what would be an extremely popular move for this man?

Benitez should hammer out what he can with Liverpool, the man can walk anytime and be sure of a top club position in England or Europe.
Jose would be a good replacement but i personally would go for Martin O'Neil, with out a doubt he is the best manger in the premier league after Fergie and Benitez .
I think Benitez could well be moving to Madrid in the summer... Though Ramos has impressed the Madrid fans (apparantly)
But I personally think that when O'Neil leaves Villa he will head towards Manchester for United.
As a Liverpool fan, I don't want Rafa to go but when he eventually does, I wouldn't be too upset if Mourhino stepped into his shoes. O'Neil? Oh no!
With Parry going at the end of the season, hopefully Rafa will finally sign on the dotted line.
