If United should not have taken the corner then the linesman should have stood in front of the ball until the ref blew his whistle.<BR/><BR/>On the wider point of “Ungentlemanly Conduct" I think there is a bit of a danger that this can be used to stifle player iniative in the game. Why is it OK to score from taking a direct free kick (taken quickly) but not through an indirect corner?
