What a good week I've had, and the black and white cherry-on-top of my Newcastle going down cake could only be topped if Geordie Cheryl Cole herself offered some down going.

Middlesboro should never have stayed up. Anyone with Aliadiere as a 'main striker' was always going to end up a laughing stock, the world's most over-rated player, Downing, didn't exactly stand out all season and not replacing Schwarzer was their main flaw.

Newcastle however? Martins, for all his ridiculous talent and potential, has been anonymous. Owen, for once, couldn't handle the weight of pressure and expectation and I hope he now ends up somewhere like Villa. The only player who I feel sad for, and hope gets a good transfer, is Steven Taylor. He's one of the very few shining lights from that team and worked every bit of his ass off, but apart from that...BYE BYE!!!

Also couldn't have put up with the typical English football thing of the whole of England turning Shearer into the next Messiah if they'd stayed up...HE WON ONLY ONE GAME AS MANAGER, by anyone's reckoning, a piss-poor return for Ashley's money.

At least us Baggies now have someone we can call 'real competition' for next season... Newcastle? No, don't be silly!
